The Vye Jolibook is the first netbook that is shipped with the Linux kernel and Chromium based Jolicloud operating system. It has an ultra-bright LED backlight 10.1 inch display with WSVGA resolution and is powered by a fast 1.5 GHz Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor.
I guess Jolicloud 1.0 is still being rolled out so not everyone with an installation had the chance to upgrade and see what the new version is like themselves. So here is another video of Jolicloud 1.0 introducing the new user interface and features on a Samsung N120 netbook.
As announced last week version 1.0 of Jolicloud is currently being rolled out to the users of the netbook operating system. Probably the most obvious change compared to the pre-final release is the new HTML5 based launcher.
This short video demoes touch support in Jolicloud 1.0 on the Samsung NB30 netbook. You get a sense of how to navigate and start applications as well as reordering them within the application panel. I guess we'll learn more about Jolicloud's touch capabilities on the Jolicloud blog soon.
The new Jolicloud HTML5 launcher demoed in this 1st official video definitely looks slick and is another good reason to look forward to the final release of Jolicloud version 1. Some time has passed since the pre-final Jolicloud Robby release in the end of March 2010, so we may hope that a 1st stable release is not too distant in the future.
