You've all read and heard about software patents, lawsuits and billion dollar fines. What annoys me most about all that is the fear, uncertainty and doubt on the part of the people creating and using technology.

Linux is not only the ideal operating system for small screen devices like netbooks, but also a pretty good choice for the big screen. Several of the top blockbusters of all time were created with the help of Linux software or render farms running Linux.

ASUS, who kicked off the netbook revolution 2 years ago with their 7" Eee PC 701 running a custom Linux distro, effectively abandoned Linux from their Eee product line this year. They even went further slapping Linux in the face by telling their potential and ex-customers that their computers are better with Windows.
