The AC100 is Toshiba's 1st Android smartbook to hit the market. It has a 10.1" Toshiba TruBrite TFT high brightness display with 16 : 9 aspect ratio and LED backlighting. The AC100 is equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra 250 Mobile Web Processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB DDR2 RAM, and 8GB SSD.
The smartbook comes with an integrated 1.3 Megapixels web camera with built-in microphone, multi card reader with support for MultiMedia, SD and miniSD/microSD cards up to 2 GB, and SDHC cards up to 32 GB, HDMI port supporting 1080p, USB 2.0 and mini USB ports, built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support.
The initial version of the AC100 runs Android 2.1 bundled with Toshiba apps for file management, media playback, social networking, and youtube in addition to the thousands of apps available for Android. As reported by Liliputing an an update to Android 2.2, a.k.a. Froyo, will be offered in October where available.
