One of the first things Doug Aamoth recommends in his video tutorial on how to add 1 GB of RAM to the Acer Aspire One is to not try this at home. If you still cannot resist and succeed in upgrading the RAM of your netbook you will be rewarded with a performance boost.
All you need is a small screwdriver, two small flathead screwdrivers, a 1GB stick of RAM, patience and cojones. Be aware that your warranty will be voided after following the steps shown in the video and outlined in the accompanying article.
