How to Improve KDE Plasma Netbook Performance

Marco Martin posted a little how to on improving KDE Plasma Netbook performance and created this video to demonstrate the result of the configuration change he made on his Asus Eee PC 1005ha.

Basically, you need to change the graphicssystem option to raster from the default x11 setting with the following command:

plasma-netbook -graphicssystem raster

To make this change permanent Marco added a config file option in Plasma Netbook. Make sure to read his post for how to set this as well as more insights, possible drawbacks of this change, and work on OpenGL support in future versions of the KDE Software Compilation.
