There has been continued speculation about ASUS considering a Linux based operating system again for new netbook models. Google's Chrome and Android systems where the hottest candidates I guess, but an underdog won the race, the Asus Eee PC X101 netbook runs MeeGo.
Looking at the hardware the X101 is a netbook in its basic meaning, it has a 10.1" screen, can be loaded with up to 2GB RAM and comes with 8GB SSD and a 3-cell battery. For people seeking a mobile companion rather than a powerful laptop this light and thin netbook, which is said to cost about US $200, looks like an attractive choice.
