Dirk Hohndel, former Chief Technology Officer of SuSE and Vice President of the XFree86 project, gave this keynote presentation about Moblin and the vision behind the project at OSCON 2008 held in Portland, Oregon.
Dirk talks about the key role open source plays in the Moblin project and in a call to action asks the open source community to help shape the future of Moblin and push the project in the direction they want to go.
About 10 months after this keynote the Moblin V2 release attracted quite a lot of attention and raised expectations for Moblin to become a viable alternative on the netbook operating system market.
Hohndel's keynote can be downloaded as an audio file from the IT Conversations show page.
