Brad Linder from Liliputing published an extensive review of the HP Chromebook 11. You can get the gist of it in his 10 minute video review.
For those who feel uncomfortable running Google's browser operating system, Brad quickly demonstrates running Ubuntu using Crouton on this device. Crouton allows you to install (or remove) Ubuntu or Debian without "harming" the Chrome operating system itself, which can simply be restored by exiting developer mode.
Brad concludes that the HP Chromebook 11 is a decent device like the other Chromebooks available on the market if you're sold on the idea of Chrome OS. But he also asks whether they make sense in a world where convertibles like the ASUS Transformer Book T100 with 10 hours of battery life are available with Windows 8.1.
I think they totally do, since using Windows whatever version is not an option for me and they seem to work quite well with Ubuntu. The currently best selling laptops on Amazon suggest that quite a few other people think so too. What do you think?
