The recently released KDE 4.3, codename Caizen, looks great. Watching the Plasma netbook prototype preview a few weeks ago, and now this video by Jos Poortvliet demonstrating the KDE desktop workspace, I feel like giving a KDE a try again, after not having used it for several years.
For netbook users the integration of web applications and online resources through customizable widgets, that are part of the Plasma Desktop Shell, are probably of particular interest, as they blur the line between desktop and web applications.
Moreover, Plasma has seen significant performance improvements and reduced memory usage, which is good news for people who want to run it on less powerful hardware.
I hope to soon find the time to test drive KDE 4.3 and write about my experience here. What are your impressions after watching the KDE desktop tour or have you already tried it?
