These 2 videos show how the search, launch, and newspaper features will look in the Plasma Netbook Shell of the upcoming KDE Software Compilation 4.5.
The new version will be faster due to several optimizations on the shell itself and the Qt application development framework, more responsive, and it adds extensive drag and drop support, which enhances the usability on touch screen devices.
These user interface demos show KDE Plasma Netbook on 3 different devices: an Asus Eee PC 1005ha, a rugged tablet with a 1GHz VIA processor, and an 800MHz Intel Atom based Compal Jax10 running Moblin.
The videos were recorded by KDE developer Marco Martin, who introduces Plasma Netbook 4.5 on his blog more extensively.
