This 43 min video looks at Toshiba's new higher-specced Chromebook 2 model. The author created this review after asking on Reddit whether people would be interested and having used his new Chromebook for 2 weeks.
The Toshiba CB35-B3340 boots up quickly in about 4 sec and performs pretty well even with multiple browser tabs opened in parallel including 2 HD YouTube videos, audio playback on Pandora, viewing a huge image on Gigapan, performing a Flash based speedtest, accessing the Verge, eBay etc.
Pretty impressive, but as the author correctly states an unrealistic usage scenario. Fortunately, it also works well for sane usage patterns. The extra 2 GB RAM as compared to most Chromebooks do make a difference.
Apart from the very good performance for a sub $400 laptop, the reviewer is particularly excited about the full HD IPS display and reasonably argues that the screen should be a major factor in your buying decision. In the end it is what you look at for many many hours during the lifetime of such a device.
He concludes that the Toshiba CB35-B3340 Chromebook 2 is well worth its price, currently about $360, and thinks it is the best Chromebook released so far.
